Our year round produce and supplies include
Watermelons
Our fresh watermelons (Citrullus Ianatus) are sourced from southern African producers. Watermelon fruit is known to be indigenous in the Kalahari desert and semitropical regions of Africa. This delicious variety of melon fruit matures to sizes ranging from 2 – 14 kg.
We are dedicated to bringing you the highest quality watermelon fruits. Our packed bulk bins typically hold either Grade 1 (6.5 – 12 kg per watermelon) fruit or Grade 2 (3 – 6.4 kg per watermelon). Each bin will weigh about 500 kg – 550 kg.
Oranges
Our network of growers in the tropical and subtropical climates typically favour the sweet orange trees (citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck) for their delicious fruit which most people enjoy fresh or in juice form.
We commonly supply the Valencia (extremely juicy with a bit of a tang mixed with their sweetness) and Navel (quite sweet and seedless) varieties.
With catering needs in mind, the Valencia oranges are a good choice for juicing while the Navel oranges are great for fruit salad.
Green Beans (Haricot verts)
Our green beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) are harvested when they are still young and tender, typically 12-14 days after flowering, to ensure our consumers are able to enjoy their robust flavour. Haricot verts are a French variety of green beans slightly longer, thinner and straighter pods.
Green beans are rich in proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and dietary fibre. Their health benefits cardiovascular through improvement in levels of blood fats.
To ensure good quality produce for our customers we employ best postharvest practices for precooling, sorting, packaging and storage.
In addition to key produce listed above other fruit and vegetables we supply include mangoes, tomatoes, avocados, sweet potatoes, blueberries and raspberries
