What the tranining covers
Our training takes producers through the practical requirements of GLOBALG.A.P. readiness, from understanding the standard and strengthening farm practices to building the records, systems and evidence needed to prepare for independent certification assessment.
1. Understanding GLOBALG.A.P.
Build a clear understanding of what GLOBALG.A.P. is, how the standard applies to fruit and vegetable production, the different routes towards certification, and the responsibilities producers need to understanding before beginning their readiness journey.
You will learn about:
- The purpose and structure of GLOBALG.A.P. and why it matters to producers and international supply chains.
- The key GLOBALG.A.P. requirements relevant to fruit and vegetable production.
- the differrent pathways towards GLOBALG.A.P. certification and how producers can determine the appropriate route for their operation.
- The roles and responsibilities of producers, certification bodies and other parties involved in the certification process.
2. Farm Systems & Compliance
Learn how to strengthen day-to-day farm systems and practices to align with GLOBALG.A.P. requirements, with a practical focus on food safety, traceability, responsible input use, worker healtyh and safety, and environmental management.
You will learn about:
- Food safety and hygiene practices throughout fruit and vegetable production and handling.
- Traceability systems that enable produce to be tracked from the farm through to harvesting, handling and supply.
- Water management, including assessing water resources, managing water quality and using water responsibly in production.
- Fertiliser and soil management practices, including responsible application, storage and record keeping.
- Plant protection product management, including safe selection, application, storage and appropriate record keeping.
- Worker health, safety and welfare practices that support safe and responsible working conditions on the farm.
- Environmental management practices that help producers protect natural resources and reduce the environmental impact of farming activities.
3. Documentation & record Keeping
You will learn about:
- Essential farm records and how to organise them so information is accurate, accessible and easy to maintain.
- Traceability records that link production, harvesting and handling activities to the produce supplied to customers.
- Risk assessments and supporting documentation used to identify, evaluate and manage risks within farm operations.
- Corrective action records that show how identified problems or non-conformities are addressed and followed through to completion.
- Document control and evidence management so important records are kept organised, current and available when needed for asssessment.
4. Audit & Certification Readiness
Bring the learning together by assessing your farm’s readiness, identifying gaps and preparing the systems, records and evidence needed for an independent GLOBALG.A.P. certification assessment.
You will learn about:
- How to carry out a structured self-assessment against the relevant GLOBALG.A.P. requirements.
- How to identify and prioritise gaps between current farm practices and GLOBALG.A.P. requirements.
- How to develop and implement corrective actions to address identified gaps and non-conformities.
- How to organise records and supporting evidence so they are accessible and ready for review during the certification assessment.
- What to expect from the independent certification assessment and how to prepare the farm, people and documentation for the assessment process.
